How We Can Help You!

If you’re wondering “Why The Optimisation Suite?” Well… that’s a good question! You may have tried other practitioners and/or modalities before, and bottom line is… You want to know “What sets us apart from our competitors?

Chiropractic care is a drug-free, surgery-free form of primary healthcare focused on diagnosing, managing, and preventing mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. This includes how these disorders affect the nervous system and overall health. The core belief in chiropractic practice is that the body can function properly and respond to its environment, as long as the nervous system remains free from interference.

Understanding this is easier with a basic knowledge of human anatomy. Every function in your body is controlled by your nervous system, which consists of your brain, spinal cord, and nerves. The brain is the control center of your body, managing everything from movement to immune responses. It sends instructions to the body through the spinal cord and nerves, which act as communication pathways between the brain and the rest of the body.

Your nervous system is so vital that it’s protected by bone. The brain is housed within the skull, while the spinal cord is protected by 24 interconnected, movable vertebrae that form your spine. Your spine serves as the central support structure of your body. It must be strong enough to maintain posture and balance, yet flexible enough to allow for movement and absorb shocks. This combination of strength and flexibility helps the spine withstand everyday stresses.

Modern life is full of stress—whether it’s physical, mental, or chemical. Poor posture, car accidents, excessive screen time, deadlines, pollution, and other factors can wear down your body over time, leading to dysfunction and ill health. Your body’s ability to cope with these stresses depends largely on having a healthy nervous system and spine. By understanding the connection between these two, it becomes clear why maintaining spine health is so important.

Chiropractors focus on improving nervous system function through chiropractic adjustments, particularly by working on the spine, skull, and pelvis. These adjustments help remove any interference that may impair your body’s ability to maintain optimal health.

People seek chiropractic care for various reasons, including:

  1. Musculoskeletal injuries

  2. Headaches

  3. Back pain

  4. Sciatica

  5. Pregnancy-related pain

  6. Neck pain

  7. Scoliosis

  8. Lower back pain

  9. Disc injuries

  10. Rib pain

  11. Recurring sports injuries

Chiropractors thoroughly assess your history, perform specific orthopaedic, neurological, and bio-mechanical evaluations, and may recommend tests like X-rays or MRIs to provide an accurate diagnosis. From there, they create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your body’s specific needs, ensuring that your care is as unique as you are. Since no two bodies are the same, no two treatment programs should be identical either.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What is the difference between physiotherapy and chiropractic?

There are some similarities between physiotherapy and chiropractic in that they are both effective health care modalities that work with the musculoskeletal system. However, they are distinct health care professions for a number of reasons. To put it succinctly—physiotherapy tends to work with the support structures of the body (muscles, ligaments) while chiropractic focuses on the foundational structures of the body (bones and nervous system). In some cases, working with both a chiropractor and physiotherapist concurrently will be beneficial depending on the diagnosis.

At “The Optimisation Suite” – our Chiropractor, Steven, has a very sporting oriented background, and uses this experience to provide a very wholistic approach to care.

We offer both a ‘Pay-Per-Visit’ rate as well as a number of Care Plans. While our Chiropractor will always provide specific, tailored, recommendations for you, based on your condition, you will decide what you are ready to commit to. At The Optimisation Suite – you will not be faced with pushy sales or gimmicks – our service and product speak for themselves and we are confident that you will agree. Our ‘Pay-Per-Visit’ rate is $135 SGD, while Care Plans will yield a reduced rate, over the long term.

At The Optimisation Suite, we specialise in what is known as ‘corrective chiropractic care’. This means that each and every visit, the doctors will be applying a number of different corrective methods / interventions, most notably specific chiropractic adjustments and spinal traction. On average, our practice members spend between 45 mins – 1 hour during each corrective visit; those cases needing more work may require up to 2 hours.

If you have taken spinal x-rays, or any imaging in the past, for that matter – do bring them in at your first appointment so our specialist may assess them. Not all cases require the use of x-ray, however cases of corrective care will warrant some form of diagnostic imaging – your Chiropractor will discuss this with you after they have completed thoroughly reviewing your health history and performing a postural, spinal, and physical/functional examination.

This will depend primarily on two factors—what is your condition/diagnosis and what is your desired outcome?

Our Chiropractor will always make their best recommendations for you while incorporating their collective clinical experience, evidence-informed practice, and the most recent chiropractic, CBP® and musculoskeletal therapeutics research. Some important things to keep in mind – your problem very likely did not occur immediately when you first felt your pain or discomfort and might instead be a reflection of years of built up stresses or traumas. To undo this damage, allowing your body to properly repair and heal, it will take some time.

Returning a scoliotic spine to ideal is unlikely. However, achieving improvements is absolutely possible with the correct intervention. Corrective chiropractic care in conjunction with mirror-image exercises, ScoliRoll® spinal orthotics, and corrective braces such as the ScoliBrace®, have been proven to be very successful in reducing scoliosis (curve straightening), de-rotation of the spine, and increasing spinal flexibility.

Do you have a spine? If the answer is ‘yes’, then you can benefit from chiropractic care! The spine provides a foundational column for your body—it is your main support pillar. It also encases and protects your all-important spinal cord. For your body to function optimally, you require a healthy spine and nervous system. Chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper function and health to these areas of your body.

In fact, more and more people are seeking out chiropractic care to help them keep their bodies functioning and feeling their best, with or without symptoms.

Yes, chiropractic care under a properly trained doctor of chiropractic is very safe. The risk is so low, in fact, that chiropractors pay among the lowest malpractice insurance for health care providers – anywhere from half to one tenth of what a medical doctor may require.
